Evaluation of your blogging experience

Well, I must confess that, I had never had a blog, therefore this has been my first experience related to creating a blog and writing every week on it. Sincerely I liked all the topics of blogs, I find fun to write in english to practice the language. I feel that my writing skills have improved, I have learned new words, and I can maintained a coherence in the writing. I enjoy going to my english class every week to write on my blog. I feel that it has been conmmitment to learning the englisg language. I like to write about topics to share with my classmates, moreover, I like to read what my classmates write, in this way I can know them a little. 

I would like to write about globalization or internationalization, and about the cultural diversity that there is on the planet. However, I would like too write about the parties, because I would like know about what other people think that the a party is fun. For example, for some one is important to meet new people, but for other the more important thing is have a good time with the most trusted friends, there may be alcohol, dancing or not, maybe good music is the mattter, perhaps the place or the razon are the most important things.

Without a doubt, the english course in general has been very nice, aducational and fun. I like. 

A place I would like to go to

Hallo evryone, well, this is a wonderful topic for me, because I love traveling, and I would like know many places around de world. 

Now, I will talk about the place where I would like to go before this year ends. This place is the lake Lemán, also known as Lake Geneva, is the largest lake in Wester Europe. It is located north of the Alps, between France and Switzerland. I never have been in  Switzerland or France, but this moth I will travel to Switzerland, so, I would like to go to lake Geneva, because I love lakes and landcapes. If I visit a new place, and this place has lakes, I want to go there. Morever, on the shores of the Geneva lake I will find the Chillon Castle, I would like know it, because I think it has an interesting story. The Chillon Castle was an important defensive building since Bronce Age, which was later fortified by the romans, it is listed as a historical monument of Switzerland. 

In general, I feel very atracted to the old continet because I think that, it has very diferent landscapes, very interisting stories to tell me, as well emblematic and amazing places.

 A SUBJECT YOU ENJOY STUDYING THIS SEMESTER

Hello everyone, well, mi favourite subject is Pharmacobotany, because I am learning about the procces and fundamental to discovery news actives metabolites from the plants, that can became new candidates for drugs. 

I also love this subject, because I want to do the research from my doctoral thesis in this topic. Sincerely I chose my PhD program because it has a line of research related to the studies of plants for discovering metabolites with biological activity, that can be a new drug for the diseases treatment. I think this topic is very interesting because it is innovative, and needs interaction of several disciplines.

Then, I would like to discover an alternative treatment for the Chagas disease from the medicinal plants, although there are drugs for the chagas disease treatment, but the drugs are very toxic, however, I also want to know which are the chemical components from a medical plant that is used by indigenous people in my country for the  tropical diseases empirical treatment, the name of this plant is Castanedia santamartensis from Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta. The next year I will travel to Colombia for gathering leaves from this plant for my research, and after that, I will come back to Chile, thus, I am motivated about my research in this subject and I feel that I love it. 

PS. When I need used the Mass Spectrometer, I will call to Daniel, because he is learning  a lot about this subject 😊

Drug for Negleted Diseases iniciatives (DNDi) is a collaborative, patients´ needs - driven, non-profit drug research and devolopment (R&D) organization that is developing new treatments for neglected diseases.  

DNDi was founded in 2003, it is working in the following diseases: Chagas disease, Leishmaniasis, Sleeping sickness, Paediatric HIV, Filarial disease, Mycetoma and Hepatitis C

I like this organization for the vision that it has, which consists in to improve the quality of the health of people suffering from negleted diseases by using an alternative model for devolop drugs for these diseases. 

Throughout my professional carreer, for 7 years, I am working with tropical diseases like the Chagas disease and Leishmaniasis, which are the Negleted diseases. In this moment I am doing my research about the new treatment for the Chagas disease from natural products, like the medicinal plants leaves,  for that, I visit the web page of DNDi constantly, I like so much know about the devolop of the new drugs for this disease.

  Favorite Musician 

The Oreja de Van Gogh is a musical group originally from San Sebastián (País Vasco), Spain. I like this group so much because I love the lyrics of the songs. The Rock - Pop is theire genre . The name of this group was inspired in the name of the famous dutch painter Vicente de Van Gogh. I listen this group since I was a teenager. 

     

Other group that I like is Il Divo, It was formed in England in 2003. I like it because I love theire voices and melodies of the theire songs. My favorite song of this group is "Hero" I feel motivated when I listen it, other song I like is "My wey". I listen this group since I was 16 years old.

Il Divo is  is remarkable for its mixture and/or musical fusion of opera (lyrical singing and cultured music) with themes from different genres such as Latin music, pop, boleros, thematic, folklore, tangos, sacred music, and for the interpretation of versions of legendary and emblematic songs 

Pentatonix is the name of the other group that I like. I know about this band for theire song ALELUYA, I really love this song. Pentatonix is an American acappella group from Texas, was formed in 2011. I think that theire voices are pretty beautifull. 

I like so much listening to music every time, but when I am working in my laptop I prefer to listen to instrumental music because I can focus better with this music, for example I listen to melodies by Chopin, Ludovico or Vivaldi. My favorite melody by  Vivaldi is "for season" especialy the spring. 

A photograph

I love taking photos. I do not have a professional camera, but I like my camera. The photo here is from the moon, I took it with my camera beacause I love taking photos of the moon. I have a collection of photos of the moon in my computer, and sometimes I post them on my facebook. 

I like that the photos I take have the date to remember when I took it, for example, I took this photo the last year in the October month, It is a photo of an almost full moon because I specially like this moon phase. 

Why do I like to take the moon photos?, well, because I admire the moon, every night I try to see it, I think it is very beautifull and magnificent and I feel tranquility while I look at it. I can imagine that two people kiss and I can see the kiss on the moon, but I can imagine anything, sometimes I think my emotions are reflected in the moon, and I can send messages with it.

Taking photos of the moon is an activity very especial for me.

Hello everyone! 

Well, I do not watch series, but I will be writting about my favorite movie. The name of my favorite movie is The Pursuit of Happyness, this is an American film directed by Gabriele Muccino, the protagonists are played by Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith. It premiered in 2006 and is based on the true story of Chris Gardner. I like this movie so much because of the lessons it leaves, the history is about a man who has to live many difficulties, he does  not have money, not wife, not house, however he has a son, but he never gives up, and finaly he finds his happiness, I realy love this movie, but it is not the only one in my list. In general I like many movies about real histories, but if you ask me what my favorite movie is , I will aswer: The Pursuit of Happyness.
